The industry specialist brings Michael Harkort on-board to head up the new Public Sector Consulting unit
Munich, April 3, 2014. The German Public Sector is showing a growing demand for IT solutions and consulting services that are “made in Germany”. As an industry specialist and key player in this market, the IT consulting and system integration company msg is staying abreast of this development by focusing its IT and business consulting services for the industry in a separate business unit. The business unit will concentrate on providing specialized consulting services which are especially important in early phases of a project and predominantly deal with topics such as business architecture and IT strategy.
Business Units for Consulting and Solutions
msg was able to acquire Michael Harkort, who has assumed the position on March 1, 2014, as head of the new Public Sector Consulting unit. With a degree in computer science, he has more than ten years of experience in the Public Sector and is very well connected within the industry. He formerly worked in the same field for major consulting firms.
Division manager Jürgen Fritsche, who successfully established and promoted the Public Sector business since 2011, will focus his “Public Sector Solutions” unit on solution business and IT consulting. By now, all major federal IT service centers are among msg's customers, and activities have already expanded to include Switzerland and Austria. "Customer interest in our portfolio is what has enabled our growth to date. However, we see a market demand that goes beyond that and which we were not able to cover in an optimal way with the previous structure," states Jürgen Fritsche.
"With Michael Harkort, we have gained a very experienced colleague. His competencies and experiences make him the perfect fit," emphasizes Jürgen Fritsche. "This is because the market promises some very exciting developments and excellent opportunities. With our focus on solutions, IT and business consulting we will be able to offer our customers additional highly interesting services."
"I am really looking forward to my new task of expanding consulting services for the Public Sector with msg," explains Michael Harkort. "My goal is to make a significant contribution to expanding our growth even before the end of the year."
With the organizational expansions for the Public Sector industry, msg is clearing the way for further growth. "We have achieved enormous success in the Public Sector in recent years," emphasizes Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff, member of the Board of Directors at msg systems ag and responsible for the Public Sector industry. "We want to continue this development and are now in the process of creating the organizational basis for doing so. This will allow us to address our customers' needs and requirements even more specifically."
