With the planned ALM solution, SAP is expanding their solution portfolio in the field of risk and return management. The economic focus hereby is on the management of the interest rate portfolio and will support the following processes:
- Calculation of present value and periodical parameters for the interest rate portfolio
- Analysis of the current situation (static)
- Simulation and analysis of the future development of parameters (dynamic)
- New business planning for interest-bearing business
The solution will be realized gradually and will be made available in two phases. A first delivery including essential functions is scheduled for the first half of 2016.
The ALM solution is planned to be integrated into the established SAP solutions providing functions for the management of liquidity risk, profitability calculation, the management of credit risks and accounting all on a common platform.
“It is our customers in particular who will benefit from the cooperation with msg in the context of ALM”, says Hartmut Thomsen, Managing Director SAP Deutschland SE & Co. The integration into the finance and risk data platform based on SAP HANA will allow synergies to be exploited through a uniform data model and common data management. This allows data analyses, evaluations and reports on the individual transaction level to be carried out in real-time for millions of data sets and for various risk and finance questions.
“We see great opportunities for making our well-founded knowledge regarding ALM, which we have developed over the course of many years and which our subsidiary msg Gillardon has already proven the strength of in the German market, available in the future on the high-performance SAP HANA in-memory technology for customers in the German-speaking and international markets”, says Hans Zehetmaier, chairman of the Board of Directors at msg systems ag. “This is a further step in our long-term collaboration with SAP.
