Intranet prevention tools

Efficient security processes thanks to an intuitive intranet solution.

Customer

The Berufsgenossenschaft Energie Textil Elektro Medienerzeugnisse (BG ETEM) is a commercial employers' liability insurance association in Germany and a provider of statutory accident insurance. BG ETEM covers 3.8 million insured persons in over 200,000 companies. Every two years, BG ETEM awards the BG ETEM Prevention Prize for Occupational Health and Safety. BG ETEM implemented the Intranet Prevention Tools project in collaboration with msg.

Challenge

The initial situation required a solution for managing the use of hazardous substances, creating risk assessments and operating instructions based on them, and collecting, reporting, and managing accidents. In addition, legal obligations for accident prevention had to be implemented efficiently. Due to the complexity and the need to provide all information centrally and accessibly, it was decided to develop an intranet application. This platform was to enable all relevant processes and documents to be integrated in a user-friendly and legally compliant manner and managed efficiently.

Objective

The objective was to design, develop, and test a web application based on Angular and Java technologies that provides modular standard software. This software was to cover several key functions, including the creation of risk assessments in accordance with occupational safety legislation and hazardous substances regulations, the management of hazardous substances lists, and the creation of operating instructions. In addition, it was to integrate a set of rules and an accident management module to support all relevant processes in compliance with the law.

Solution and benefits

The modern dashboard functions developed enable the relevant information and documentation to be communicated to safety specialists and company employees in a target group-oriented manner. This ensures that each user group can quickly and easily access the data that is important to them. This increases efficiency when working with safety - related information and supports the proactive implementation of safety standards within the company.
