Focus on the Future: AI, Automation, and Digital Sovereignty
On September 22 and 23, 2025, approximately 300 decision-makers and experts convened at the Marriott Munich City West for the 13th inscom – the biennial msg premier event that has been a staple in the global insurance arena for over two decades.
The spotlight was on the key issues of the future: artificial intelligence, automation, and digital sovereignty. inscom 2025 revolved around the pivotal question: How can insurers effectively and responsibly leverage new technologies? The dialog extended beyond mere technical possibilities, delving into the strategic direction for the upcoming years and the acceptance of AI within organizations.
Some key highlights:
- Kick-off by our CEO Dr. Andrea van Aubel: She emphasized that AI has been a reality for quite some time – from automated claims processing to tailored customer communication. A specific example: msg.process:it, which automates business processes from start to finish.
- Regulatory requirements explained clearly: Patrik Maeyer (GDV) shed light on the FIDA regulation and highlighted the opportunities and challenges associated with open customer interfaces.
- Real-world applications: Dr. Benjamin Helbig (Inter) and Dr. Frank Schmid (Gen Re) presented specific use cases demonstrating how AI replaces forms and enhances forecasting.
- Emphasis on accountability: Transparency, data protection, and ethics were key topics – as trust is essential for successful technological transformation.
- Looking forward: Futurologist Sven Gábor Jánszky provided an inspiring perspective on technologies like deep learning, IoT, and quantum computing, along with the potential benefits AI holds for our future and that of our children.
Alongside the presentations, inscom provided ample networking opportunities as usual – whether during breaks, sharing experiences, or in the evening in a laid-back setting.
