Four-year master agreement signed with the German Federal Employment Agency's IT solution provider
Munich, June 12, 2012. msg systems received the subsequent order after responding to a bid invitation issued by the German Federal Employment Agency. The Munich-based company group has been supporting the German Federal Employment Agency's IT solution provider in the design, implementation and consolidation of a central master data management system that covers all administrative processes since 2011. The order is part of STEP, the master data development project, which covers a range of tasks including the further development of the central personal data management and central operation data management.
The goal of the STEP IT project is to consolidate the data structures of the personal and company master data, which have grown extensively since being established and which were never fully harmonized, and to make the data available from a central location. This will include the master attributes of all of the corresponding business processes. Through improved data integrity, as well as meaningful and audit-proof data, the Federal Agency intends to create a basis for more efficient, online-capable processes and improved customer service.
Susanne Klemptner, the STEP project manager for the German Federal Employment Agency, emphasized that: "STEP is a project that has been given high priority and is of core importance in the Agency's ability to realize the goals it has set as part of the IT strategy. The complex challenges of the project are characterized by the wide range of demands involved in public administration and the high integration of existing processes into the Agency's existing IT landscape. We are positive that with msg systems we have found a partner with whom we can jointly master these significant tasks."
Expertise in Architecture, Design and Implementation

"We are looking forward to the collaboration and are proud that the German Federal Employment Agency holds our business expertise and our technological competence in such high regard," states Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff, member of the Board of Directors at msg systems ag. "Thanks to our extensive experience in constructing central master data management systems we are the right partner for the IT solution provider and will be able to work with them to jointly ensure the success of the project.”
In light of the significance of the customer, msg systems has opened a new location in Nuremberg, where the German Federal Employment Agency is headquartered. The new location will continue to expand, allowing the company to better service the growing number of customers in the metropolitan region of Nuremberg. "We intend to create 100 new IT jobs at our location in Nuremberg over the next three years," explains Dr. Stephan Frohnhoff. The proximity to the renowned Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg will also be advantageous in promoting the exchange with science and research.
